Basis for Time in All On Mobile
UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is the standard for civil time recording and is used as the base time within All On Mobile.
What Time is Stored in All On Mobile?
Time and date information on Mobile Devices is recorded in local time, but is converted to UTC when transmitted to the All On Mobile Bridge for processing. This is the same when accessing the All On Mobile Bridge via a web browser, time is shown and noted in local time but stored on the All On Mobile Bridge as UTC.
Example:
- A Mobile Device based in BST (British Summer Time) records a Signature field as being completed at 13:00 (1 pm).
- When 'submitted' the Signature field time of 13:00 is converted to UTC and stored on the All On Mobile Bridge as 12:00.
- The All On Mobile Bridge logs show the signature as being signed at 12:00 UTC, but when interrogated by web browser or output to PDF the time shown is in BST (13:00).
Device and Browser Time
All On Mobile takes its time from the Mobile Device or from the web browser PC/Device. Please ensure that the Device time/date is correct before downloading or creating jobs with All On Mobile or setting Job Dispatch date/times through the All On Mobile Bridge.
Device Time and Old Versions of All On Mobile App
Please note that previous version of the All On Mobile (v3.0.2 or below) app do not support different time zones. Therefore if a submitted job is in UTC +8 (e.g. in Beijing time) at 20:00 (8pm) no conversion will take place for the date and time to be stored in UTC time. When the time read by the Bridge and the web browser time is set to UTC +1 (BST time), the job completed will show as being completed at 20:00.
